Horizontal Scroll: Have you been any given play dough recipes recently?

Thought I'd share my recipe with you
•2 cups flour
•1 cup salt
•2 cups of water with food colouring added
•1 tablespoon oil
Mix all ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring until stiff. Allow to cool and then knead. Store in an airtight container

The benefits of play dough include –
•sensory stimulation. This can be further enhanced by adding colour, scent, glitter, sand etc to the dough
•freedom to explore on their own
•early mark making (using fingers or tools)
•physical development of fine motor skills
•hand eye co-ordination
•learning how to use tools
•new vocabulary re manipulation e.g. `squeeze'
•being with others, sharing & cooperating
•raises self esteem as children receive praise for the process rather than the end product
•freedom for creative development
Don't forget to sit with them or it'll be on the floor in minutes!!
